Composer's Notes
I know that, as a composer, I'm the heir of an important tradition, and I have the ardous task to pursue it, studying what was already written in the past and trying to imagine something new. But I do it with a physical pleasure, feeling my body highly involved in the creative process and having a gorgeous sensation of fullness that goes from my mind to my heart. So, score by score, I try to do something hard and surely hazardous: I put all myself in my music, looking for a balance between body and soul, physical pleasure and intellectual research. It's a risky choice, but it's what I feel I must do.
That's what I did working on “The Ludwig project” too. You could listen to the three pieces as an ironic and virtuoso game on his music (in “Ludwig van Gotlibovich”), an observation of Beethoven’s death (in “The last two sensations”) and a possible tribute to him, hoping that he would appreciate (in “To B?”).
On the technical side, inside my three small scores you’ll find some references to the structures used by Beethoven (for such as the sonata-form in the quartet), some ironic quotes of his most famous music (that you'll discover easily), some dynamic gestures that come from the waves of sound he used to use. But, with such material, I filled my papers with rhythms, melodies, harmonies, effects that seemed wonderful and amazing to me and gave me a real, deep sensation of happyness.
